England Qualifiers
England Qualifiers ~ World Cup Qualifying Game Tips
Predictions for England & the other home nations (including Eire) for their June world cup qualifying games: (Volume 2)
1. England:
On June 6th England play Kazakhstan away. England beat this lot 5-1 at Wembley last October after the game was 0-0 at half time. I expect England to win reasonably easily but they might get a few scares & so don’t expect them to be drawing 0-0 again at half time.
3-0 to England @ 6/1 with bet365.com.
England then play Andorra on June 10th at (new) Wembley on the following Wednesday & this will be an easy victory. I know England struggled to a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture last September but this time with an (almost) full Wembley crowd behind them they should get a few goals.
4-0 to England.
My predictions for England’s last two games were spot on against Ukraine & friendly against Slovakia. I predicted a narrow 2-1 win for England & that is precisely what happened. Don’t you love it when you get it right…I feel like the back page of one of the tabloids now…“you read it hear first, narrow 2-1 win for England“. - The Daily Scum.
2. Scotland:
I predicted Scotland would lose in Holland & that is what happened. A shame but as I said in my previous World cup preview, Scotland are a spent force nowadays. Personally I think they should bring back the home International Championships so that both us & Scotland could compete for real world domination. Let’s be honest, it is the only International Game that matters. You can shove your world cup quarter final defeats in the dustbin, they are nothing compared to losing to Scotland.
Scotland don’t play until August when they play Norway in Glasgow. (who would want to go to Glasgow for a night match?). I think they will struggle and only get a point, thus further sealing their doom. Oh well, always the England game lads, err, hell, they still haven’t reinstated it after my comments!!!
3. Republic of Ireland (aka: Eire):
Unlike Scotland, Eire are playing a world cup game and they have a tricky away game in Bulgaria on June 6th in Sofia. After correctly predicting that Eire would draw in Italy, I feel that they will win in Bulgaria. A narrow win though. This will put Eire on course to qualify for South Africa & all there friendly Guiness drinking fans can start to plan for next summer. Funny that they go for a Italian Manager to get them there though, won’t catch England doing that, err, shit, we have done. Oh well, we thought of the idea first.
2-1 to Eire @ 12/1 with bet365.com.
4. Northern Ireland:
Northern Ireland had an fantastic victory over Poland in Belfast last time out, something which I didn’t see coming, especially as I predicted a draw. They Followed that up with a win against Slovenia which has put them in a really good position in group 3. They are now top but it will be really hard work for them to keep that position but never say never. I think they will just miss out but as they managed to beat Poland you can never really write them off. It would be good if both Ireland’s qualified. It would be even better if they played each other in the same group if they made it to South Africa. I suspect that game, if it happened, would do more for the peace process than any statement from a politician.
We can but hope.
Looking at the other European Groups, it is looking likely that Germany (no booing in the back there) will qualify along with Spain & Holland. In Group one it is straight fight between Denmark & Hungary (surprising), while in group Greece & Switzerland are fighting it out. Finally, group seven is a fight between France & Serbia.
I must point out that the runners up in all groups go into a play off.
The big question for me, is how long it will take for the one of the Tabloids after England have qualified to show a mock picture of John Terry holding the World cup and saying we will win it???
Thanks
