FA Cup 2009

Ok so I should have done my predictions for the FA Cup in January before the 3^rd round was played but for reasons of work & laziness I did not. Next year I will (Promise).

The Five teams left are:- Arsenal, Hull City, Chelsea, Manchester United & Everton.

I expect Arsenal to beat Hull City at home in their delayed Quarter final tie. Hull are having a very bad second half to the season & until they won at Fulham last week had not won since mid December when they beat Middlesbrough and look at the season they are having.

Arsenal will then play Chelsea in the one of the semi finals at a neutral ground, oh hang on it’s being played at Wembley so that the FA (and others) can make more money. I expect Chelsea to win this semi as they are coming into form and played very well in Europe in knocking out Juventus while Arsenal struggled to beat Roma on pens even thou it has to be said they were much the better side in the first leg at home.

In the Other semi between Manchester United and Everton I can’t see beyond an United Victory. This is a shame for Everton as they have been getting stronger over the last few years and were a tad unfortunate to lose to Chelsea in last years League Cup Semis. Manchester I’m afraid are very strong at present so I expect them to reach the final with a bit to spare.

This means that the final will be between Chelsea & Manchester United, a repeat if you didn’t know of the 2007 final in which Chelsea won one nil.

I think Chelsea will win again as Manchester United will be beginning to feel the pressure of going for so many trophies.
