It’s almost that time of year: March Madness betting time! Both of these teams figure to be in the mix this year, but the rankings have changed quite a bit since November. UCLA
The Bruins probably won’t win the Pac-10 regular-season title due to Washington’s emergence, and they’re also fighting off Arizona State. UCLA started fourth in the nation, but are now just fighting to stay in the top 20. Notre Dame
All told, the Fighting Irish are probably the biggest disappointment in the nation, as they were ranked ninth to start the season and are now in extreme danger of missing the Tournament altogether. Notre Dame has had a terrible year defensively, and playing in the nation’s toughest conference doesn’t help matters at all. We’ll have to wait and see if the Fighting Irish will have any March Madness betting chance at all.
Texas
The Longhorns were thought to be a major player in the Big 12, and their preseason rank of seventh showed that. However, a three-game losing skid at the end of January essentially ended their hopes of the regular-season title, and now they’ll head into the Big 12 tournament with NCAA basketball odds of +7500.
Davidson
After last year’s run to the Elite Eight, the Stephen Curry-led Wildcats were expected to give the top teams a lot of trouble as the 20th-ranked preseason team. However, the Wildcats have lost to Duke, Oklahoma and Purdue, three Tournament-caliber teams, and a late-season loss to Butler is worrying.
