Struggling Colts suffer Manning blow
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay fears that Peyton Manning's season is over amid suggestions that the quarterback has played his last game for the team.
When asked if there was any hope that Manning would return this season, Irsay said: "I really don't see that. I think with the time-frame we have left, it's something where it will go into the off-season."
The Colts have kept Manning on the active roster all season even though in early September he endured neck surgery for the third time in 19 months. Those looking at the online NFL betting odds will know he has had a really tough time of it lately.
Colts' vice-chairman Bill Polian, general manager Chris Polian and Irsay must now decide whether to exercise a $28million option on the player or let Manning become a free agent.
Meanwhile, Colts tight end Dallas Clark and linebacker Pat Angerer could return to the side for Sunday’s game at Baltimore.
Clark has missed Indianapolis’ last four games after injuring his lower left leg while Angerer picked up an injury to his right knee during last week’s game against the New England Patriots.
Both players were able to take part in practice on Friday, with coach Jim Caldwell hinting that Clark was more likely to play against the Ravens than Angerer, who remains questionable.
The Colts are enduring a dreadful season and have lost all 12 of their matches to date. After playing Baltimore they will come up against the Tennessee Titans on 18th December, Houston Texans five days later before ending their campaign on New Year's Day at Jacksonville Jaguars.
