Premiership Predictions
Premiership Predictions, Correct Score Weekend Football Tips for 28 ~ 29/11/09
Hello again. Last weekend I correctly predicted five Premiership results. The winning results were Manchester United beating Everton, Stoke beating Portsmouth, Birmingham beating Fulham, Chelsea beating Wolves & Spurs Beating Wigan. I came close on the Liverpool Manchester City game as I said it would be a draw or a Manchester City Victory but in the end I went for an away win. I must admit I did not see Sunderland beating Arsenal but that’s Football. On Wednesday I also correctly predicted Hull beating Everton & Fulham Beating Blackburn. That gave me a total of seven correct results out of Twelve. This is good as it keeps my average above 50% for the season which if I don’t mind saying so myself is pretty good.
Enough of my ego. Onto this weekends games. Good luck everyone.
Match 1: Aston Villa - Spurs: (Saturday 5.30pm):
This is a difficult game to predict as both sides are so close together in the table. In fact Spurs are 4th three points ahead of the Villa in fifth. Last weekend Spurs thrashed Wigan 9-1! I predicted that they would win 3-1 but nobody could have seen that scoreline coming. Spurs lost their previous away game 3-0 at Arsenal and they have recovered well since then, beating Sunderland & of course Wigan last Sunday. Villa meanwhile drew at Burnley last Saturday after thrashing hapless Bolton 5-1 the week before at Home. Both sides are in good form then. I think Villa will just edge this game & it could be a very useful three points come the end of the season in their quest to make the top four. A close game .
Result Prediction: Aston Villa to win
Score Prediction: Aston Villa 2 Spurs 1
2. Blackburn - Stoke: (Saturday 3pm):
Blackburn won their first away game of the season last Sunday winning two nil at fast fading Bolton. In fact it was their first points away as well. Blackburn’s home form is good this season as they have only lost the one game so far (against Manchester City) on the opening day of the season. Stoke’s away form is much improved on last season with some useful draws at Everton & Bolton for example not to mention their great 1-0 win at Spurs. I can see both sides cancelling each other out in this game as they both play a similar type of football but Stoke may just get the edge because they play a titter game away from home.
Result Prediction: A score draw
Score Prediction: Blackburn 1 Stoke 1
3. Fulham - Bolton: (Saturday 3pm)
Fulham won again in midweek at home beating Blackburn 3-0 at home. ( I had predicted them to win 2-0 but I am not complaining). Last Saturday they lost at Birmingham, again a result I predicted so the question hear is if I can get three Fulham predictions correct on the trot. You would think so with Bolton’s last few results. Bolton lost at home very disappointingly to Blackburn last Sunday which followed their 5-1 thrashing at Aston Villa in their previous away game. Bolton are now third from bottom in the relegation zone on 11 points. They need some points fast if they are to get out but unluckily for them it won’t be in this game. Another three points at home for Fulham.
Result Prediction: Fulham to win
Score Prediction: Fulham 2 Bolton 0
4. Manchester City - Hull City: (Saturday 3pm):
Hull have started to improve with four points in their last two home games. They followed up their 3-3 draw with West Ham last Saturday by beating a much in decline Everton 3-2 on Wednesday night. Again, a result I correctly predicted. They are now in 15th place ahead of Bolton by four points. I still think Hull will end up in a relegation fight & that will deepen with a defeat at Manchester City on Saturday. Manchester City as everybody knows can’t stop drawing their games. Their latest draw was at Liverpool last Saturday. Any other season that draw would have been deemed a good result but considering Liverpool’s dreadful form this season it was more a case of two points dropped, especially as they led 2-1 late in the second half. Manchester City have now drawn their last six league games & that run has to end. This Saturday against Hull I think it will especially because of Hull’s dreadful away record (1 point all season).
Result Prediction: Manchester City to get back to winning ways
Score Prediction: Manchester City 3 Hull City 1
5. Portsmouth - Manchester United: (Saturday 12.45pm):
Portsmouth appointed Avram Grant as manager on Thursday after sacking Paul hart. Only time will tell if he is able to turn Portsmouth’s season around a starve off relegation. His first game in charge is a tuff game. Manchester United won 3-0 against Everton last week but lost 1-0 at home in Europe to prove that they are not firing on all cylinders so far this season despite the usual help from the officials. Portsmouth have only won two games all season & are bottom of the table on seven points while United are second in the table trying to match Chelsea’s form. I don’t think that Portsmouth will get much on Saturday but the biggest shock to me is that their legion’s of part time supporters will not be able to watch the game as it is a 3pm kick-off. Whatever next? I know lets play an extra game abroad in the Premiership to make more money…shit, they have already thought of that one.
Result Prediction: Manchester United to win
Score Prediction: Portsmouth 0 Manchester United 2
6. West Ham - Burnley: (Saturday 5.30pm):
West Ham got a deserved point at Hull Last week but they really should not have let Hull gain a point after surrendering a 2-0 lead. The point has taken them out of the bottom three on goal difference above Bolton. Bolton are on a bad run and have slipped into the relegation places again after losing at home to Blackburn & getting beat 5-1 at Aston Villa the game before. West Ham lost their previous home game 2-1 to Everton but this time I think they will gain three points as Bolton are struggling more than them. A close game methinks down in the east end.
Result Prediction: West Ham to win .
Score Prediction: West Ham 2 Burnley 1
7. Wigan - Sunderland : (Saturday: 3pm):
You don’t need reminding what Wigan did in their last game. A disgrace by most accounts. Too lose 8-1 in any game is bad let alone at Spurs who are no World beaters by any stretch of the imagination. Sunderland on the other hand had a great result beating Arsenal. Sunderland’s away record is mixed with defeats at Birmingham & Burnley alone with a draw at Old Trafford (the only side to do so in the League). After Dave Whelan the Wigan chairman put some of the blame for Wigan’s defeat last Saturday on Steve Bruce for some of his signings towards the end of last season I expect Sunderland to be up for this game & add to Wigan’s woes. An away win for Sunderland.
Result Prediction: Sunderland to record their second away win of the season
Score Prediction: Wigan 1 Sunderland 2
8. Arsenal - Chelsea: (Sunday 4pm):
This is a big game for both sides which is stating the obvious a bit. Arsenal lost at Sunderland last week. They should have had a penalty but as the foul was not a goal scoring opportunity & you can miss penalties anyway the media ignored it. Funny that because they would not have done that if it had been Manchester United. Arsenal bounced back with a 2-0 win in Europe on Tuesday which should put them in good hart for this game which will be tough. Last season they lost this fixture 4-1 at home after they had been beat 3-1 at home by Manchester United in the Champions League Semi Final second leg. Chelsea are on Form & it is difficult to bet against them in this game. They are top of the Premiership, still in Europe & the most important competition of them all the League Cup. A close game unlike last season but Arsenal never seem to get much luck these days so I am going for a draw.
Result Prediction: A score draw
Score Prediction: Arsenal 1 Chelsea 1
9. Everton - Liverpool: (Sunday 1.30pm):
Liverpool got knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday despite winning. I predicted this. Liverpool are in massive decline & I think it is really funny. They can’t win the Premiership & are out of the League cup. Ha-ha. Things are about to get worse for True Liverpool fans, I.e. those from Liverpool. Everton are also on a bad run & their defeat at Hull on Wednesday night came after they had got beat at Manchester United 3-0. They are due a victory over their rivals in the league (they knocked them out of the cup last season) & for that reason alone I am going for an Everton win.
Result Prediction: Everton to win
Score Prediction: Everton 2 Liverpool 0
10. Wolves - Birmingham: (Sunday 12pm):
Wolves have had to big defeats on the spin having lost at Chelsea last week 4-0 & at home to Arsenal 4-1 the game before. They now have a chance to get some points. They need them as they have dropped to second from bottom in the table while Birmingham have climbed away from the bottom with some decent results in the last few weeks. Last week Birmingham beat Fulham at home (as I predicted) after they had drawn at Liverpool & at home with Manchester City. They are now four games unbeaten. They are however still not scoring many goals but there is a sense of optimism around the club after the new takeover. Gates are even up for gods sake. I think this game will end up a draw which will not please Wolves too much.
Result Prediction: A score draw
Score Prediction: Wolves 1 Birmingham 1
That’s it for this week boys & girls. See you next week.
