Premiership Predictions

Premiership Predictions, Correct Score Football Tips for this Saturday: 12th September 2009

Well the weekend before the International break was very good if you follow my premiership predictions. I correctly predicted the correct score that Manchester United & the referee would beat Arsenal 2-1 at Old Trafford. I also correctly predicted that Chelsea would beat Burnley 3-0. After getting the correct scores in those games right I followed up with the correct results for Spurs, Manchester City and Liverpool. This gave me a 100% record for the day in results. Better than Mark Lawrenson, not that that is hard.

And so on to this weekends fixtures……

1. Liverpool - Burnley:

Liverpool bounced back from their shock 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa to win at Bolton 3-2 in their last game. Liverpool have lost two games already this season after only losing one in the whole of last season (how did they manage that?). They can’t afford to lose many more but I’m afraid they will before the season is out but not this Saturday against Burnley. Burnley got thrashed at Chelsea 3-0 in their last game & I can see their away form being the difference between them staying in this division beyond May. Liverpool are not playing that well at present but they will still be too strong for Burnley. A repeat of the Chelsea score for poor old Burnley I’m afraid.

Result Prediction: Liverpool to beat Burnley. @ 1/5 with bet365.

Score Prediction: Liverpool 3 Burnley 0 @ 6/1 with bet365.

2. Manchester City - Arsenal:

This is a difficult game to predict. Arsenal had been on a great little run until the referee stopped them at Old Trafford. The question for me is how they will react after that defeat. In previous seasons their young side has not reacted well to losing big games, an example being when they were beat 4-1 at home by Chelsea after losing to Manchester United in the Champions league semi’s last season. Last season they lost 3-0 in this fixture. That was probably Manchester City’s best result of last season. I can’t see a repeat of last seasons result & because of Manchester City’s very good start (they have won all their games so far) I can see this game being a high scoring entertaining draw. I also expect Adebayor to score against his former club.

Result Prediction: An entertaining Draw @ 23/10 with bet365.

Score Prediction: Manchester City 2 Arsenal 2 @ 14/1 with Coral

3. Stoke City - Chelsea:

Stoke have started off this season where they finished last season, i.e., difficult to beat at home & picking up the odd point away from home. They have already beaten Burnley & Sunderland at home as well as getting a draw at Birmingham City. As they have only lost the one game (a 4-0 thumping at Liverpool) this has put them in the dizzy position of 4th in the table. That is bloody great as far as I am concerned. Chelsea are one of three clubs who have won all their games so far, the others being Manchester city & Tottenham. They will just snatch a result at stoke I fear by the odd goal in three. It will be a very hard earned victory.

Result Prediction: Away win for Chelsea @ 2/5 with Coral

Score Prediction: 2-1 to Chelsea @ 7/1 with Coral

4. Tottenham Hotspur - Manchester United:

Another difficult fixture to predict I fear. Tottenham are top of the table due to the simple fact they have won all of their games making it their best start since 1961 when they went on to win the double. That is also the last time that they won the Title. I don’t expect them to do the same this season. Meanwhile Manchester United have been accused of doing a Chelsea in tapping up young players & of course they denied it through their spokesman "Sky Sports News". Funny that the media is not making much of it as apposed to Chelsea’s guilt of the same crime. So much for impartial news coverage? Onto the game and I think Spurs will shock Manchester United and win (I hope). A close game though. The only thing that worries me is the referee. Will he help Manchester get a result? Only time will tell?

Result Prediction: Spurs to beat Manchester United @ 21/10 with PartyBets.com

Score Prediction: Spurs 2 Manchester United 1 @ 11/1 with PartyBets.com

5. Birmingham City - Aston Villa:

The fifth game of the weekend sees the commencement of the Birmingham derby after a season while Birmingham City were in the championship. Villa, despite going out of Europe have started better than a lot of people including myself expected with two wins out of three including a excellent win at Anfield against Liverpool three one. In their last game they beat Fulham 2-0 at home easily. Birmingham meanwhile have started with some very boring football and have only scored two goals, one of them being the winner from the penalty spot against Portsmouth. That result could make a big difference come the end of the season for them. Their gates are disappointing though and this reflects the defensive football they are playing as well as the high admission prices their working class support is being asked to pay. Will someone at the club wake up to those facts? An easy 2-0 away win for Villa & probably the highest gate that Birmingham will have this season.

Result Prediction: Villa to Beat Birmingham City @ 6/5 with Coral

Score Prediction: Villa to win 2-0 @ 8/1 with Coral

Good luck everybody & lets hope for a repeat of the previous set of predictions?
