Sebastian Vettel
Vettel holds an 85 point lead in the drivers standings with eight races to go, but has only picked up one win in the last five races, with McLaren picking up three wins and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso taking the chequered flag at the British Grand Prix.
Having qualified on the front row for every race so far this season, there had been some suggestions that the German is far from comfortable coming through the field, only picking up wins when he is racing in clean air and not under pressure.
Horner believes those claims are unfounded, and points to the fact that Vettel kept both Alonso and Jenson Button at bay for long periods in the closing stages of the Monaco Grand Prix.
"He is hugely impressive under pressure," Horner told Autosport. "He has not ceased to surprise me in pressure situations.”
"Monaco was a clear example in the way that he managed to keep the cars (Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button) behind him on tyres that were never envisaged to run that long.”
"In Barcelona, he positioned the car in exactly the right place against Hamilton. He soaks up the pressure so well.”
"So many times in Q3 you think 'he's got a bit on here' but he has gone on to deliver." He added.
The formula 1 season gets back under way with the Belgian Grand Prix in two weeks’ time, with Vettel aiming for his seventh win of the season
