Tottenham v Bolton Premiership Prediction

Barclays Premier League
Tottenham v Bolton, 15:00
Author: Thomas Rooney 30/11/2011
The form team of the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur, will be hoping to continue their excellent run at home to struggling Bolton Wanderers this weekend.
Harry Redknapp’s men have been exemplary of late, winning their last five league games and going unbeaten in their last ten. They are scoring goals, passing the ball nicely and as confident as a team can be at this stage of the season.
One slight concern a couple of weeks ago would have been the fact that Emmanuel Adebayor wasn’t finding the back of the net, but he has scored four times in the last two games. There isn’t an area of the pitch that Spurs aren’t excelling in right now.
The question as ever when things are going this well is how long they can keep that going. This is presumably as good as they can play over a ten game period, so now the challenge is to keep racking up the points.
Last weekend’s win at West Brom was certainly a good sign as far as grinding out results is concerned and they will aim to do the same against Bolton on Saturday afternoon. In front of their home fans, they will be confident of having enough for the points.
As for Bolton, well they have had a very difficult campaign so far. They have had their moments of success – the 4-0 win at Queens Park Rangers and the 5-0 victory over Stoke City stand out massively – but overall it has been a shocking four months for Owen Coyle’s men.
They have lost six of their seven home games and conceded 31 goals in the 13 games so far. On the road, they have picked up two wins – three points were secured at Wigan as well as the hammering of QPR – but generally, they have been poor and lacking attacking threat.
Coyle is a respected manager though and one thing Bolton do have in their favour is that there isn’t any pressure on him in terms of his job. It isn’t being suggested that he is on borrowed time and nor should it. He has done a great job at the Reebok Stadium so far and will be backed by many to keep them up this year.
Having said that, their resurgence won’t come at White Hart Lane this weekend. With games against Aston Villa, Fulham and Blackburn to come between now and Christmas, they have other opportunities to go on an improved run of form in December, but it could be a struggle on Saturday.
Spurs are just in too good a form to let Bolton in. With goals coming from all over the pitch, Redknapp’s men should take this one by a couple of goals.
